Unscathed by relatives

Despite being beset by relatives, today passed relatively painlessly. For the first time ever, I got away without being criticised for my manifest failings — the nearest thing to condemnation was a comment that some of my cousins were doing marathon training coupled with the unspoken suggestion that I should be doing the same.
