Mystery of the missing olives

I have a distinct memory of starting a fresh tub of olives on Sunday but, now that I want to eat the rest, I can't seem to find them. The best case scenario would seem to be that I accidentally threw them out when I took out the trash on Sunday night, and the worst case would be that I've got a tub of black olives tucked away festering in a corner somewhere...
