Fifth Element

Yet another exercise in what could have been from Besson. As with all his films, it looks insanely great, it has an interesting soundtrack and a plot, well, a plot that makes like no sense whatsoever. I can't help feeling that if he'd only tried a little bit harder and diverted some of the effort he put into all the visual stuff into the script, he might have made a really great movie instead of one that's entertaining and all, but that leaves you with a total feeling of so what when it's done.

I guess I should look on the bright side: at least it's not Joan of Arc.
