Usual Review cullage
Jul. 22nd, 2006 01:04 pmGood Guardian Review today, including a rather inconclusive review by Andrew Motion of John Stubbs' John Donne: The Reformed Soul, which covers a lot of Donne's history but doesn't really provide much of a feel for whether Motion actually liked the book or not — I'm guessing from the two sentences that could be mistaken for opinion that he probably does.
The feature on the troublesome private life of Eric Gill was interesting, as was Ursula Le Guin's review of Margaret Drabble's latest. It's also good to get Jon Courtenay Grimwood's take on the latest SF and Fantasy novels which, coincidentally, happens to include my current reading: Justina Robson's Keeping It Real.
