Much elbow grease required
Sep. 3rd, 2006 09:42 pmI've just realised how horrific the week ahead is going to be. I've got to write an essay for Friday. I've got to finalise my arrangements for going away next week. I've got to get my revision notes sorted so that I can take them away with me. I've got to write up notes on how to localise the new tin gods — due to arrive shortly, weeks later than scheduled — even though past evidence has shown that no-one every bothers to read my tech notes, let alone act on them, and sort out a todo list for my colleagues. As if all that wasn't enough, Thursday saw the start of a period of pathological slowdown, with operational runs going through 10–20 minutes slower than normal, no inclination on the part of anyone else to do anything about it and no signs of an obvious cause.
I guess I might as well savour the opportunity to go running, take out the trash and, most of all, sleep while I still have the chance.
