Sick building syndrome

Another open plan problem: as soon as one person gets bird flu, everyone else catches it like it's going out of fashion. Seriously, I keep expecting Dustin Hoffman to turn up in a bio suit.

I wonder if anyone's ever bothered to study whether it's cheaper to have walls and healthier workers or open plan with everyone at reduced efficiency cuz they're sick all the time.
