I rediscovered the source code for torus today, while trawling around my chaotic home directory pathetically searching for something else - where's spotlight when you need it? Torus was my total baby for a while; a neat little bit of C that used various bits of undocumented Unicos/mk system magic to extract the state of the T3E and display it in a set of curses windows, sort of like a souped up version of top, psview and grmview. Made me feel seriously nostalgic for the days of Big Red, the days when I used to be half-smart and semi-motivated.

For some reason, I can't seem to sync OS X with OpenNTPD on BSD. The biscuit box is definitely running ntpd and the two are definitely talking, but even though running ntpdate returns a valid offset, it complains that it can't find a suitable server:
