Calling all cars
Sep. 13th, 2005 05:13 pmIn response to something about European mobility week, someone posted this gem to one of the Menagarie's internal newsgroups:
We will still have individual transportation in the year 2100. The parking problem will have been solved by building parking garages under the streets. There is an excellent chance that our individual cars (or airplanes) will be computer driven, allowing, the very young, the very old, and the very drunk to travel safely.
I was amused by the near perfect correlation between the list of people in need of computer controlled transportation and the people on my LJ friends list. The process of mapping reasons to people is left as an exercise for the reader.
