Today's heated debate: whether Shrove Tuesday is a Christian event or not. I don't think it is — I think it's more of an ephiphenominal aspect of Lent.
Today's palliative discovery: that there were errors in Saturday's quick crossword. This explained why both I and my grandmother, the doyen of all things cruciverbal, got stuck in the same places.
