On subversive books
Nov. 15th, 2007 09:36 pmI feel a bit embarrassed. Following on from Hari Kunzru's piece about his subversive library and Natalie Hanman's related question on the Guardian books blog, I'd like to be able to fess up to owning books of deep radicalism and anger. I'd like to, but unfortunately I can't.
On the other hand, I do own a number of dangerous books. These include various Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers novels, which taught me almost everything I know about poisons and explosives, and various books by Peter Atkins which taught me everything else.
