Proms: Mendelssohn 2

Back late, I only caught the second half of tonight's prom, which was completely taken up with Mendelssohn's massive second 2nd symphony. I came away convinced. The Hallé under Elder were on fine form, the choirs and the soloists were excellent, and the whole thing really seemed to work well.
