Proms: running the gamut
Aug. 2nd, 2009 10:06 pmWonderfully eccletic proms programme, with works that included a world premier from Ben Foskett and a delightful performance of Beethoven's 4th symphony on a chamber sized version of the BBC SO. The whole thing rounded off with a great favourite of mine: Berlioz' extravagant and over-the-top Te Deum, which featured a huge orchestra, 450+ singers, a tenor soloist and the Albert Hall organ coming in like the voice of God.
Most enjoyable.
