Five positive signs

Five signs that things may be starting to look up:

• just as I was thinking I ought to do something about getting a new cell phone, someone came by and pressed a new handset on me
• today's tedious meeting was cancelled due after (almost) everyone called in sick. Despite feeling sorry for them, I can't help but feel slightly pleased with myself
• my network snark has finally been traced back to an known problem that comes complete with a couple of workarounds and an APAR
• I've concluded my Fringe binge, leaving me free to return to my Anthony Price binge
• the epic mouth ulcer I've had for the last three weeks — almost exactly coinciding with the duration of my snark hunt — is finally clearing up
