Thanksgiving night out

Out for Thanksgiving I opted for a very unconvincing cowboy look, with R more convincingly rocking the same sort of outfit — although in my case I didn't have to borrow my bandana from the dog!

The food was solid Americana rather than the classic Thanksgiving turkey — to similar to Christmas, perhaps? I, of course, went for mac 'n cheese and later allowed myself a big slice of apple pie. R was feeling a bit under the weather and didn't have anything but M more than made up for it with a chilli dog and big plate of sticky ribs for seconds.

Thanks to a week of intense boot camp training with H, I actually knew the answers to some of the climbing questions which in combination with my ability to recognise American presidents — even Harry S Truman — was impressive enough for the others to dub me The Sponge, although I suspect this may not have been due to my amazing memory so much as my total lack of spine.

In the end we came joint third and won some pez dispensers. Excelsior!

ETA: Somehow A-M managed to capture us in entirely characteristic poses — although I'm not sure whether the same is true of the team standing immediately behinds us; for their sake I rather hope it isn't...
