Fenton's Veni Sancte Spiritus

Half-listening to the end of today's Sound of Cinema on the theme Here Be Dragons, I caught the George Fenton's music for the closing of Shadowlands — the tenuous connection with the theme was Lewis' friendship with Tolkien. Which serves to remind me just how much I love the short Veni Sancte Spiritus that opens the film:

Evenings runs versus morning runs

Out running this evening, having missed my usual pre-dawn slot, it was nice to be reminded just how much easier it all is if you're properly fueled up. Thus I started out at a quick pace and stuck to it the whole way through, only to find that I had enough left to accelerate up to flat out over the last couple of miles. And even though I was well up on my morning speed, I didn't really feel as though I was working much harder to achieve it.

Maybe there is something to all the sports nutrition stuff after all...
