Marathon Sunday climb
Nov. 2nd, 2014 09:01 pmHaving planned a gentle session to end the week, I ended up spending almost the entire afternoon at the climbing centre.
With it being the last weekend in half-term, M was able to climb for the first time in a month and a half, so we spent the first few hours beating ourselves up on some of the top-rope routes. I didn't climb anything above a 6b+ and M stuck to 5s and sent a lone 6a. I also tried a very hard 6b that I just can't seem to get right: I think I might have to ask G for beta when he gets back from China.
Just as M had tired herself out and I was thinking about winding down, I spotted E lone wolfing it and we spent the rest of the day pottering on some of the harder bouldering problems, climbing a few routes and practicing bits and pieces of technique. It was interesting how, when doing knee drop drills, we all tended to drop more on one side than the other: N said that typically people did deeper knee drops on their non-dominant side because their dominant arm was usually stronger, so they got used to muscling through rather than dropping their knee the whole way.
