Cruciverbal screwup...

Feeling rather pleased with myself for finishing this morning's quick crossword despite almost all the across clues being out of sequence...

After I took the snapshot, I revealed the final missing letter — the difficult one alluded to by WightOut — and discovered that it was "+" which clearly isn't right, but since the original clue is missing, it's impossible to know which of the possible options is correct.

To be honest, I rather enjoyed the additional challenge of working out what was going on before solving the clues...

ETA: now fixed by the efficient Guardian crossword team. The missing across clue was Shoot-out (at the OK Corral?)...

Thirty-first parkrun

Extremely pleased with today's result: I finished in 19:56, achieving my goal of a sub-twenty minute run, and placed 10th out of a field of 245.

I started much better than last week, keeping pace with the people at the front over the first kilometre before dropping back slightly but holding on to my overall position. Coming up on the last klick, I realised it had the potential to be a fast one and pushed myself on, completing the last two hundred metres at a much faster pace than I'd started.

Now I find myself in search of a new goal. Perhaps I'll try knocking a minute off my current PB and go for a sub-nineteen time...
