Brahms Violin Concerto

sawylI might be 24 years late, but I can't recommend the Karajan/Mutter recording of the Brahms Violin Concerto, the one from 1982, highly enough. The orchestral playing is great, Mutter is a fiery and brilliant soloist — hard to imagine that she was only 19 when it was recorded — and perfectly matched by Karajan. I don't think it puts a foot wrong.
