Vehicular victuals
Jan. 22nd, 2007 07:32 pmToday's Guardian featured a fine article on the evolution of the British motorway service station. Particularly amusing was the rather wonderful encounter between Moz and Peel in an anonymous Granary Kitchen:
The late John Peel once told of meeting Morrissey further up the same motorway at an unspecified services south of Newcastle, and therefore on the A1(M): "was sitting there having a cup of tea when he came over, said hello and then to my astonishment announced that this was his favourite motorway service station. I think that was taking pickiness a bit too far."
I don't know about anyone else, but I can't read that without imagining Robin Ince doing his patented impressions of the protagonists. Shocking.
