The Fountain

A few weeks ago, I happened to catch a section of the score to Aronofsky's The Fountain on Late Junction and I was rather taken with it. Written by Clint Mansell and performed by Mogwai and the Kronos Quartet — who also worked with Mansell and Aronofsky on Requiem for a Dream — its got a nice brooding quality that evolves and intensifies as things progress. An ideal piece of work music, right up there with Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians.
