What's the time Mr Wolf?

For some reason, I can't seem to sync OS X with OpenNTPD on BSD. The biscuit box is definitely running ntpd and the two are definitely talking, but even though running ntpdate returns a valid offset, it complains that it can't find a suitable server:
mac> ntpdate -dvq 10.0.0.2 12 Jul 20:07:52 ntpdate[781]: ntpdate 4.1.1@1.786 Sun Mar 20 15:41:03 PST 2005 (1) server 0.0.0.0, stratum 0, offset 0.000000, delay 0.00006 server 10.0.0.2, stratum 2, offset 11.782913, delay 1.02609 server 10.0.0.2, stratum 0, offset 0.000000, delay 0.00000 12 Jul 20:07:56 ntpdate[781]: no server suitable for synchronization found mac> ssh 10.0.0.2 date ; date Tue Jul 12 20:08:24 BST 2005 Tue Jul 12 20:08:13 BST 2005 mac>
Running ntpq doesn't seem to do much, other than cause OpenNTPD to bitch about malformed packets or something, so I wonder if it's some of compatibility problem...
