Snakes and Roundabouts
Jul. 18th, 2005 08:19 pmAfter finishing Whatever, I've been left feeling strangely upbeat, with a desire to read more novels about gloomy alienation. I'd quite like to read Snakes and Earrings as reviewed in the Grauniad on Saturday, being a big fan of all things Japanese and whatnot, but I'm not sure I'll be able to deal with all the scary body piercing or something.
Maybe I'll just go back to reading Lovecraft's short stories on the bus. Reading about the bizarre, scary arbitrariness of Cthulhu and the Old Ones sets one up perfectly for a day of dealing with the bizarre, scary arbitrariness of Her Majesty's Finest.
