The girl in the doorway
Dec. 7th, 2007 05:12 amI was woken up rather early than usual this morning by the doorbell. It turned out to be some poor girl who, bereft of handbag, phone and, shoes had somehow managed to lose sense of direction and, more worryingly, her short term memory.
Taking pity on this poor unfortunate, I lent her an ancient coat and pair of shoes, intending to send her off in the direction of home. Luckily, on opening the front door, I found the road crawling with police so I asked them if they were looking for a mystery woman. It turned out that they weren't but they agreed to drop her off at home — presumably after working out what actually happened to her and whether anything bad had occurred during the time that she'd lost.
All very weird.

Date: 2007-12-07 07:32 pm (UTC)I didn't ask what the police were doing, I was just glad to they were there — how bourgeois is that? — but I suspect from the way they were crawling around that they were searching for someone, prolly a joyrider or something.
