sawyl | Yet more tidying

Ahead of next week's move to a temporary desk — ours are being reduced in size — I spent half an hour clearing out some of the junk that has built up in my desk. The cruft included a complete set of Guardian wallcharts, five years worth of old overtime claim forms, a dirty coffee mug, a pair of decaying headphones, an unused diary for 2005, a old cell phone, a desk lamp, a copy of Cray Pipelines from the early 90s, a giant blob of Blu-Tack and a packet of seeds. After divesting myself of all this, I was able to fit all my remaining possessions into my portable cabinet, which means I now no longer need to crate up stuff ready for next week's move. Hurrah!

As if that wasn't enough, I also prevailed on

vincel (and on his estate car) to help me take my obsolete computing equipment to Exeter's charmingly ramshackle dump. I now have vast quantities of leg room under my desk, but I can't help being the gap left on my desk by the removal of my old 14" CRT monitor and speculating about what sort of equipment I might buy to fill it...
