The dumbing down of GCSEs?

None of the questions in the Guardian's GCSE Science pop quiz caused me any trouble and I came out with a perfect score of 8. Therefore it is quite clear to me that the exams have been dumbed down since my day. And the fact that I might have studied science at university and spent the best part of a decade working as a scientist since I last took a GCSE is neither here nor there in the grand scheme of these things...
