I rushed in to work first thing to print off my diary — I keep a paper-free home — put everything together and made it to the Post Office in time to get everything sent off by half nine. I now feel as though a great weight has been lifted.

and paper free home? what you don't count your books? i'd have thought you had a small forest worth of paper in your home...

I was thinking more of loose papers. I don't have a printer. I don't have writing pads. I don't have envelopes, staples, etc. I've got three pens, two of which have died and not yet been chucked, and two pencils. But I haven't got a pencil sharpener.

I am such an electronic boy.
