Latry and Mahler in Manchester

Wonderful broadcast via R3 of a concert from Manchester from a couple of weeks ago. The program opened with a coruscating half-hour improvisation on the Veni Creator Spiritus plainchant by Olivier Latry and closed with a beautifully clear and controlled performance of Mahler's vast 8th Symphony given by the combined forces of the both the BBC Phil and the Hallé.

Astonishing.
