sawylI like James Fallons lecture style but Reid's behaviour doesn't convince. Another home invasion with a creepy drowning for the dismount. Reid's silent survey of the crime scene is nice. Stock footage of a fighter jet. Foreshadowing much? CoTW is Andrea Thompson, B5's resident telepath. The victim's wedding ring is missing and an admirer has been sending news clippings of the killings to Karl Arnold. The scene with husband is pretty gruelling: CoTW cracking and Downey collapsing when he hears the news. A bit like the sheriff in Open Season.
Hotch and Prentiss atBaltimore State Hospital Red Onion Supermax Prison. Hotch has a pretty good handle on Arnold's line of attack, but I'm worried he and Em may be outmatched. Karl's still a misogynist. And also now a Prentiss fan. Rossi and Morgan: the UNSUB != the Fox; and there are probably more bodies. I remember Karl as cold and controlling, very Brian Cox; but now he seems to be channelling Tony Hopkins, what with the sniffing and carpet chewing and all. The book is definitely a play, but is Em right to leave it or is it Arnold's ace in the hole? Oooh, Hotch has so got the Fox's number. Is the recess a sign of weakness? Hotch wants Em to use photos of a dead 12 year-old girl to get Arnold to play; sordid and Prentiss knows it. The fantasy walkthrough is great: Arnold is focused on the details, casually walking through the blood trail while Prentiss and Hotch dodge it; he's the Fox again.
