Late night with banana cake

A late night despite my best intentions: at around nine, I said I'd leave in half an hour, but when I next checked the time, it was just after eleven. So much for going to bed early and getting up late every day of my holidays. Still, a good time was had and much tasty food eaten — even if honesty requires me to admit that my banana cake was a little too squidgy and could really have done with an extra 10 minutes in the oven...
