Concluding 2012's manic reading project
Jan. 13th, 2013 11:22 amI've brought my LibraryThing up to date and the numbers for last year are in: 164 books or 3.15 books a week, a total that would have been even higher had I not slackened my pace in December after reaching my target of reading at least 156 books over the course of the year.
Of these, my highlight was probably China Mieville's Embassytown. It's perfect, but it's one of the the most thoughtful and thought-provoking books I've read in a long time — my kindle copy is absolute jammed full of notes. Had it not been up against Jo Walton's Among Others, it would have certainly have got my vote for the 2012 Hugos.
