A bad morning run
Jun. 29th, 2013 10:15 amHaving spent yesterday's coffee break extolling the virtues of morning running, today I found myself caught by my own hubris: this morning's constitutional wasn't even close to enjoyable.
The signs weren't good from the outset. I woke up feeling desperately hungry — with hindsight I didn't eat nearly enough for supper yesterday — and set a decent starting pace — I overtook two cyclists! — only to fade somewhat when faced with a headwind on the way back. But despite all that I still managed a respectable distance in a reasonable time, without picking up any minor injuries or crashing my metabolism.
