The same thing we do every Sunday...
Dec. 1st, 2013 09:26 pmDespite hopes that we were going to have the entire gang back together for the first time in ages, only R & I actually did anything. I did a 6a we hadn't done before and R made a pretty decent stab at the first few moves, only to be confounded by a something that required a tricky combination of reach and balance. We then flashed an enjoyable pair of routes on the same rope, one a 5 and the other a 6a, both of which required lots of corner work — something we both like, even though I prefer bridging while R favours the knee drop.
After trying a couple of old favourites, I made another attempt to complete a 6a+/b that I'd got completely stuck on a couple of weeks ago but this time, thanks to my work on the crux of the 6a+ I sent last week, I cracked it off with exactly the same sort of move — rocking on to a high step using the arĂȘte — and the rest of it practically climbed itself. I just wish I could say the same for the 6c on the same rope...
