Sandy tufus and few long routes
Sep. 28th, 2014 09:15 pmFun afternoon at the quay, working a couple of boulder problems including a V3 that ought to be well within the possible but which I can't seem to do because I just don't want to commit to the dyno. Given that I have the same difficult with a couple of the other problems, including a V4 that I can complete if I skip the move that requires me to throw for something because don't quite have enough reach to do it statically, I think this is an area where both my technique and confidence require work.
With the bouldering out of the way, we did a few routes and I sent a couple of things I'd lacked the stamina to complete last week. I also tried the longest route on the prow, managing to get up the overhang on to the face, only to peel off after messing up the penultimate move. It was a long fall — the last couple of moves were very exposed and there was a lot of rope out — but because I'd clipped under the roof, I was nice and safe so I just spooled out into space and called it a day.
