Seventeenth parkrun
Feb. 13th, 2016 10:44 amAfter being too ill to make it last week, I screwed up my courage and braved the cold and wet for today's run. The going was very, very muddy and I managing a very slow 23:17, thanks to a combination of continued ill-health and very slippy going. D&P had volunteered and were standing at the bridge, so I got a big cheer on the way back, but it wasn't enough to put me into PB-breaking territory.
Afterwards I stopped for a much-needed tea & defrost at the Quay cafe, only to have to suffer the extreme unpleasantness of putting my cold and very wet trainers back on for the run home. Not that I actually ran in the end: I discovered that my ITB had tightened, something that happens annoying regularly if I run when I'm tired and out of condition, forcing me to walk most of way.
