On bobby pins
Feb. 28th, 2006 08:45 pmHere's a nice snippet of dialogue from volume six of Y: The Last Man. After getting locked up in the brig, 355 tries to find a way out but she ends up falling foul of Dr Mann's withering sarcasm:
| Rose: | What the hell's a Yorick? |
| 355: | He's the guy who taught me the McColl method. Doctor, do you have a bobby pin on you? |
| Dr Mann: | "A bobby pin"? Sorry, I think I left mine in the 1950s. All I've got is an elastic. |
At least I now know my purpose in life: to server as a tool carrier for those who wish to use the McColl method of lock picking to escape hazardous situations. Plus, I also remember reading somewhere that strategically placed grips act as an impromptu Faraday cage, screening the wearer from alien mind control rays.
Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
