Mar. 3rd, 2006 04:58 pmToday's Gruaniad boasts an article by Neil Gaiman on film adaptations of comic books. I thought his quote from Alan Moore on the subject of movies was particularly dead on:
Films are no friend to comics. I think they actually impoverish the comic landscape. Turning it into a sort of pumpkin patch for movie studios to come picking.
AM's cool: he certainly has the courage of his convictions. As he said in a Chain Reaction interview last year, he resolved to tell Hollywood that if they wanted to use any of his ideas, they could but they weren't allowed to use his name and they had to give his share of the money to the other artists. Then, a week after he'd made his decision, he got phone calls telling him about film versions of Constantine, Watchmen and V for Vendetta...
