Thirtieth parkrun
Jul. 30th, 2016 10:30 amRespectable time of 20:15 and 18th out of 214, despite starting a fair way back and having to sprint the first hundred metres to avoid the logjam. Tiredness started to kick in early and I definitely pulled back my pace over the second half, but I still managed to finish pretty close to my target.
After a comment from D about the consistency of my times of late, I've run the numbers through pandas and come up with some interesting results.
Revising the time of my first run when I arrived late — now that I know the kilometre points and how long it takes me to reach them, I'm confident I started three minutes after everyone else — I get a mean time of 21:07 and an SD of 39.7 seconds. But if I focus on values since I resumed running in May, the mean comes down to 20:46 and the SD to 29.4 seconds, with quartiles of 20:22, 20:41, and 21:09 — a pretty tight set of results.
