Forty-third parkrun

sawylDecent enough parkrun, finishing in 20:31 and 21st over all more or less in line with last week. Not terribly surprising given that I've barely done anything this week, thanks to far too many long days at work.
With D&P currently on holiday, P was able to do this week's run for the first time in months. I think he enjoyed it, although he wasn't able to manage a real sprint finish because the guy just in front of him wouldn't let him through. This, we agreed afterwards, was very poor form. Parkrun is a run not a race and it's good manners to let other people pass if they're faster than you or if they're really storming for the finish. Whenever someone passes me close to the finish, I always try, if I'm not breathing too hard, to tell them to go for it; as I see it, they really deserve it for being able to pull something out of the tank in the very last klick.
After the run I stopped off at D&P's place for tea while they refueled with bacon sandwiches. After chatting away a good chunk of the morning, I left to run home. As I was turning onto the main road, one of their neighbours was just leaving home and said, "I hope you look like that when get back..." to which I promptly replied, "This is my run back!" They looked suitably impressed.
