Forty-fourth parkrun
Nov. 19th, 2016 12:08 pmChilly start to the weekend thanks to this morning's parkrun. Despite not feeling on terribly good form — my time was a woeful 20:38 — I managed to come in 18th over all out of 280. Today was D's 100th parkrun and her 99th at Riverside — something that provides a good excuse for celebrating both this week and next.
After the run we retired for tea and, for the carnivores, bacon sandwiches. There was also some truly spectacular apple flapjack — P said, "If I'd had that in a coffee shop, I'd be raving about the place to all my friends..." The secret ingredients were: more than the recommended amount of apple; white sugar in place of brown; cinnamon; and maple syrup in place of golden. I suspect the latter may be responsible for the sheer awesomeness of the final product.
