Praetorius' Puer natus in Bethlehem

Having enthused about the Gabrieli Consort's recording of Michael Praetorius' Christmas Mass service a couple of days ago, here's their version of Puer natus in Bethlehem. The piece follows the processional that opens the service and embodies everything I love about their recreation: the Gabrieli Players string sound, the alternation between the soloists and the Consort, the wonderful unison contributions from the Roskilde Congregational Choir, and the showy organ intervention separating the latin hymn from the German Ein Kind geborn zu Bethlehem:
