Science and literature

An interesting piece in yesterday's Guardian by Ian McEwan on scientific writing. Question is, how many of his classic works of scientific literature have you read? For the record, I think I score a zero: I've read bits and pieces of the Selfish Gene over the last few years and a couple of bits of the Francis Bacon, but I don't think I've read either of them in their entirety.

Good point. Maybe you should write to the Guardian about it. Who knows, you might become a star letter writer. You could become Exeter's equivalent of Keith Flett (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Flett)...
