Thanks to fabulously efficient scheduling — ok, limited sleep and massive amounts of caffeine — I've somehow managed to fit Richard Reed's Down the Bright Way around all my philosophical reading. So, here's a quick rundown:

There are millions of different Earths, each one linked by a mysterious highway called the Bright. Traveling the Bright are the Wanderers, a group of idealists led by a Founder human called Jy, trying to bring peace and progress to each new world they come across. Unfortunately, not everyone shares Jy's vision of peace and she is taken prisoner by a war damaged Wanderer who has spent his life fighting to keep a great threat from invading the Bright.

My verdict? I'd probably rank it between Sister Alice and Marrow. Some of the ideas were handled well, like the way that basically decent individuals are corroded by war, but ultimately it didn't really work for me. Too much like a TV show, maybe?
