Again, nothing spectacularly ground breaking, but Mary Warnock's article provides a nice summary of Joel Joffe's bill on assisted dying and covers some of the implications.
Let's hope the Lords picks up on the experiences of Oregon and the Netherlands, and decides in favour of the bill. It's about time parliament realised that not everyone wants the same things in life and not everyone wants to die in the same way — regardless of how great palliative care has become, it seems a bit harsh to force people down the hospice route if they'd really rather make a decision about their death for themselves — and started treating people like adults who can decide important things for themselves.

Lol. I agree though. it has personal resonances at the moment. however, i tend to shy away from big issues as they make me cross - hence my journal is full of silly distractions. ah well.
