Goofing off
Jun. 1st, 2006 10:00 pmI've officially arranged to goof off the last part of this week and the first bit of next. Probably no bad thing considering my current state. This morning I managed to arse up the simplest of simple volume group renamings and this afternoon I almost lost my temper with a guy at work who was bitching at me about about boxes in the workshop like I could do something about it. Had I not been so cranky, I'd have demanded various health & safety assessments until he was buried in red tape but as it was, I only just managed to restrain myself from a bout of R. Lee Ermy style invective after the guy tried to insist that I took responsibility for paying for his truck to sit around outside waiting to be unloaded.
Worst thing about it was, with hindsight, I actually felt really sorry for the guy. It's absolutely typical of the Menagerie that if something can be screwed up, it almost certainly will be screwed up, and that if unreasonable pressure can be applied in order to demand the impossible, then unreasonable pressure will be applied. Not surprising, then, that the guy was stressed to the max. In the end, I unceremoniously dumped the whole thing on the HC and he ended up moving the boxes himself. Something which added a whole nother layer of guilt the experience...
