Rattle's Mahler 8

At the weekend, I finally picked up a copy of the Rattle recording of Mahler's 8th. It's pretty impressive, recorded live but with a very clear sound that really picks out the details — the choirs are very good, especially the two children's choirs. It's definitely up to the standards of the rest of the cycle, although the recording of the 2nd from the late 80s remains the best of the bunch.
