What a contrast. Appalling flight from Manchester to Preveza despite, coincidentally, meeting up with Pete in the departure lounge. The flight was late boarding, to the point where the cabin crew announced that we only had five minutes to make our departure slot and that unless people sat down as quickly as possible, then we'd incur an hour and half's delay. Thus encouraged, everything was quickly stowed and the plane started to taxi. After goosing the engines a few times, the pilot announced that a "minor warning light" had come on and that although it was probably nothing, we were heading back to our parking slot to allow the engineers to check the problem out.

Three hours later, we were still sat on the tarmac, with the ground crew running endless power tests on the engins. After three and a half hours, they eventually traced the cause of the fault and the plane took off for Preveza. Once we were actually up, the flight was ok, although the landing was heavy — the cabin supervisor, in making her post landing announcement said, "take care when opening the overhead lockers as things may have shifted during that oh-so-smooth landing". Ouch.

Met up with my parents, who'd tied up in Preveza town to drop off my uncle who was also flying back today, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to sail down to Vonitsa, so we spent the night in Prev town. We had a nice meal at a taverna tucked up behind he front — the same place my parents went to last night — where I went for tiroptakia and stuffed aubergine. Delightful. The only downside of the evening was the music from one of the restaurants next to the quay and, earlier in the evening, a rather lacklustre political rally.
