We left Palairos fairly early in order to get to Nidri for lunch with Pete. We'd originally planned to meet up with him somewhere along our route, but on his first voyage out of harbour his engine malfunctioned and started pouring black smoke, he'd been forced to return in ignominy with plans in tatters. As we rounded Skorpios, Aristotle Onasis' private island, Pete phoned to say that the engine man had looked at his machinery and thought that it might only be the injectors, so he'd been forced to go to Lefkada in order to drop them off. So, no Pete — just laundry and a very nice, very cheap, lunch at the Ionian.
Headed on over to Abelike on Meganisi for the night. We anchored off, went ashore and wandered in to Vathi for a nose round. After a pathetic attempt to shop, we headed back Abelike for dinner — mater's spaghetti a la grec, with the pasta cooked directly in the sauce, and baklava — a star gaze and then bed.
