Yet more bouldering
May. 8th, 2013 07:57 pmFollowing on from Sunday's efforts, I cracked the next couple of bouldering league problems. The first success was a matter of brute force, so I picked a good moment and blitzed it. The second was similar to five, but involved a tricky start before reaching the arete, at which point everything just fell into place.
The next two problems seemed quite a bit harder, so I gave them a try and added them to my list of things to repeat. Eight required a lot of smearing to started and, for those of us with short arms, a certain amount of matching. Having made it past the opening section a couple of times, I think I'll be able to crack it if I pick my moment. Nine felt well and truly beyond me: the starting position was difficult and I couldn't quite work out how to get a solid right-hand grip on the next hold, probably because my weight was in completely the wrong place.
Still, progress is progress...
