Lia on lice

Yesterday's Guardian — I know, I know, I'm running days behind with everything — featured an interview with artist Simone Lia, author of Fluffy, a comic about a rabbit. During the conversation, she explains one of the scenes with the following gem:

This was because I got headlice. Briefly. I think it was something to do with being at college. But I put on all the cream and then I woke up in the middle of the night and I thought, what about those poor creatures that I killed? That was their home.

Very cool. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for her stuff.

I skimmed through Fluffy in the bookshop today and thought it looked really good. I liked the whole comedy-pathos thing it had going. It's definitely my sort of comic.

At least you're not a nutritionist. Dr Ben has a real thing for laying into nutritionists. I guess they're just easy targets...
