Group think
Jun. 16th, 2005 10:33 pmThe Big C pointed out that my selection of Kant as the greatest philosopher agrees with the Grauniad's editorial from the weekend. In order to discharge the implicit allegation that I mooched off their view, I'd like to point out that I bitched about the lack of Hegel and Rousseau way before they did and that I actually picked my horse last week, so it's more a question of lefty intellectuals thinking alike than me not having any opinions of my own. Even though I don't.

I do like Nietzsche but I think I prefer him as a poet than as a thinker
( Nobody has any idea of what the guy was saying ).
[ By the way I do have a fondness for Deleuze for the same reason. Never understood what he meant by "a monadic body without organs
developing in the immanent plan" but it really sounds great anyway. ]
I like Chinese philosophy but someone told me recently it was not
philosophy.
The philosopher I read the most is Cioran. However he always vehemently denied he was a philosopher.
In the end I should admit that I probably don't know anything about
philosophy and that I should not vote.
